Bete, a single mother from Belo Horizonte shanty town, looks after four children, a little grandchild and a blind 79 year old "mother", who rescued her from the sewers when Bete herself was a baby and gave her a home.  Bete lives in a shanty town in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and in the latest devastating rains her little hovel collapsed, leaving them without a home.  On our arrival in the UK we heard of the tragedy and LAM is now joining with the organization Compassion, Fire and Glory to build a new home for them all.  Shown here is a picture of the proposed building.  Work will begin as funds come in.
